On a chilly day, nothing beats the sweet warmth of Mexican Hot Chocolate, and we think the smoky aroma of chipotle and the bright zing of lime add a bit of mystery to this comforting drink.
Makes 4 servings
6 cup baking cocoa
3 Tbsp brown sugar
1 cup boiling water
3 cups milk
1 Tbsp Everett’s Chipotle Lime Fusion
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
- In a small saucepan, mix the cocoa and sugar. Slowly stir in water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Sir in the cinnamon, Chipotle Lime Fusion and milk and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Whisk in vanilla and pour into mugs.
We like it just as it is, but you could opt for toppings like marshmallows, shaved chocolate, a cinnamon stick, a pinch of cayenne pepper, a drizzle of caramel or sweet steamed milk.
